Messaging Policy
FreightBound is a software platform used by motor carriers to dispatch loads and communicate with their drivers. This policy explains the SMS text messages FreightBound sends, why drivers receive them, and how to stop them.
Who sends these messages, and why
FreightBound sends SMS messages on behalf of the carriers that use our platform. There are three parties involved:
FreightBound is the platform that sends the text message. Carriers are our paying customers — trucking companies — who employ drivers. Drivers are the carrier's employees. When a carrier hires a driver, the carrier invites them to FreightBound by email; the driver signs in and enters their own mobile number while completing their profile.
The basis for sending a driver text messages is the employment relationship between the carrier and the driver — the driver is the carrier's employee, and the messages are operational dispatch communications sent as part of that job. The driver opts in through a web form: they enter their own mobile number in FreightBound's onboarding form, next to consent language describing these messages.
Carriers are responsible for having the right to share each driver's mobile number with FreightBound, and for that driver being an employee (or otherwise properly engaged) of the carrier at the time the number is entered.
Consent at onboarding (web form opt-in)
The driver's phone number is optional and is entered by the driver themself in FreightBound's profile-completion form. Directly beneath the phone field, the form shows this disclosure:
“By providing your mobile number, you agree to receive dispatch text messages from your carrier via FreightBound at (877) 853-3483. Message frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our messaging policy.”
Entering a number and submitting the form is the driver's affirmative consent — there are no pre-checked boxes, and leaving the field empty simply means no texts. The form looks like this:

Confirmation: when a driver submits a phone number, FreightBound sends one confirmation text so the opt-in is on record: “[Carrier]: you're opted in to dispatch texts via FreightBound. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.” The number and the consent it was provided under are stored on the driver's employee record.
What messages we send
FreightBound sends two kinds of messages to drivers:
• A Driver Link when a load is dispatched to them, so they can view load details and update status from their phone.
• A proof-of-delivery request asking the driver to upload photos confirming delivery.
Message frequency varies with how many loads a driver is dispatched. Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from FreightBound. Reply START to resume. Reply HELP for help. These keywords are handled automatically by our messaging provider.
No marketing, no sharing
FreightBound does not use this messaging program for marketing, and does not sell or share driver phone numbers or message content with third parties, except as needed to deliver the message itself (our SMS delivery provider).
